Simulator and new server

Today I'm going to install and familiarize myself with the simulator we are going to be using, Gazebo. Gazebo provides the sensor inputs that we're going to use, gives us the flexibility of virgtual design (how the robot is physically set up) and makes it easy to test code without having hardware. This tested code should be trivial to move over to the real system thereafter.

I'm also setting up our new server today. Prior to this, our website has been hosted on CSH's server, and the file repository has been on my own machine. Since we don't need the control stand anymore, I'm goign to put the file repository on there and perhaps install the simulator.

Morning meeting

At the morning meeting. I need to get the control station computer and make it into G-CART's data server (move it off of my own machine). I'm going to go get it later today, install Debian on it, put a 6 gig driv in it for data and set it up.

Also, I need to talk to Tay and get up to speed on the simulator; we're going to do that after our 2 o'clock meeting with Hans out at liberty hill.

I added Rhubarb to the gcart-exec mailing list.
